Comedian Rosie O’Donnell has told how she went to one of Donald Trump’s weddings for a ‘kick’.
Rosie, who relocated to Ireland over a year ago when Trump was inaugurated for a second term, attended the US President’s 1993 wedding to Marla Maples, before their long-running feud began in 2006.
The US star previously said she attended the wedding because she was friendly with Marla at the time.
But now she says she went to the wedding for a ‘kick’, calling him a ‘wannabe celebrity rich guy’ at the time.
She said: ‘It was before he was running for anything. He was just a sort of wannabe celebrity rich guy. He’s got a sordid past to say the least.
‘It was just like a kick. A fun thing to do on a Saturday. This was before I had children over 30 years ago. I just went as a kick,’ she tells The Assembly on Virgin Media One on Monday.
The pair have been in a public feud for 19 years, which began when the presenter criticised him on the television programme, The View.
Rosie is the show’s latest guest on the station’s series, which airs on Monday, February 2.
The actor also answers questions about her life in showbiz, her move to Ireland, her children, and even her ‘they’ tattoo – a personal reminder of her 12-year-old autistic child, Clay, who is non-binary.
