Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann have been spotted in Atlanta just days after their 15-year-old son, Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., was arrested in connection with serious sexual assault allegations.
Biermann, 40, was photographed on Saturday, August 22, picking up his 14-year-old son, Kash, following football practice at a fitness facility in Alpharetta, Georgia.
The former NFL player kept things casual, wearing a white T-shirt, black jeans and black shoes as he waited for his son.
The following day, Zolciak, 48, was also seen in Alpharetta. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star was photographed driving her Range Rover through the area, marking her first public sighting since news of KJ’s arrest became public.
KJ was reportedly arrested earlier that week and faces charges of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual assault. A judge did not set bond, and a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 8.
His attorney, Jason Sheffield, strongly denied the allegations and emphasized that KJ is presumed innocent.
“First and foremost, this is not the kind of information that should be for public dissemination. These are juveniles,” Sheffield said in a statement. He also claimed that KJ had attempted to provide evidence to investigators, including the results of a polygraph examination.
According to a police report cited by media outlets, the alleged incident reportedly took place on April 23 inside a gym sauna in Alpharetta. The alleged victim, who has not been publicly identified, reported sexual abuse and was taken to a hospital for examination.
The report states that medical testing did not find evidence of male DNA in the areas examined.
Zolciak has also publicly defended her son, firmly denying the allegations against him.
“The allegations being made against my son are nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling,” she said in a statement. Zolciak maintained that her son denied the accusations and voluntarily underwent a polygraph examination, which she said he passed.
She also said that an examination found no DNA belonging to her son and urged the public not to treat allegations as proven facts.
“False accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the person being accused, but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse,” Zolciak said, while stressing that legitimate allegations should be investigated based on evidence.
The family has been under intense public scrutiny in recent years. In addition to KJ and Kash, Kim and Kroy share 12-year-old twins Kaia and Kane. Kroy also adopted Zolciak’s two older daughters, Brielle and Ariana, from her previous relationship.
The couple have also been involved in a highly publicized and contentious divorce battle since filing for divorce in May 2023.
KJ remains legally presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court. The upcoming preliminary hearing on September 8 is expected to provide further information about the case.
